About Cleveland Physical Therapists

Edward J. Aubé PT, OCS, President	As a board certified specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy, Edward takes special interest in treating back pain and throwing injuries to the shoulder. Mr. Aubé emphasizes an active approach to treating these and other sorts of injuries. In 1994 he co-founded Rehab Professionals of Cleveland, Inc. in order to offer the high quality services his clients deserved. After graduating from St. Louis University, Edward earned his certificate in Physical Therapy at Cleveland State University. He has lectured to his colleagues on aquatic physical therapy and presents to businesses and community groups on prevention of low back pain and repetitive motion injuries. He also speaks to athletes on sport specific training and injury prevention programs.

Cofounder of Rehab Professionals of Cleveland, Inc., Maria focuses on treating persons with arthritis and on treating female athletes. Her treatments emphasize educating her patients to help them understand and self-manage their conditions. Ms. Nolan's tremendous success is derived from her varied experiences throughout her career. Her extensive career includes work as a therapist for the City of Hope Medical Center in California, work in Atlanta, Georgia, as well as at Sports Rehabilitation Consultants in Cleveland, and the Visiting Nurse Association of Cleveland. Her experience also includes a clinical directorship position at Ameri-sports Medicine in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. She was formerly director of Rehabilitation Services at Lake Hospital systems in Willoughby, Ohio. A graduate of Russell Sage College and Albany Medical College in New York, Maria is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and delegate of the Ohio Physical Therapy Association. Anthony DiFilippo PT, DPT, M.Ed., CSCS, CWT Director	Dr. DiFilippo’s expertise in rehabilitation of work-related injuries and his development of sports-specific conditioning programs has helped many patients return to their jobs or the sports they enjoy. As an orthopedic physical therapist, treatment of conditions is not limited to industrial and sports. Dr. DiFilippo also enjoys treating all types of orthopedic conditions such as sprains and strains, spinal disc problems, arthritis, and balance deficits. Dr. DiFilippo earned his bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from Bowling Green State University in conjuction with the Medical College of Ohio. He then went on to earn a master degree in exercise science from Cleveland State University, and earned certification as a Strength and conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. His doctorate in physical therapy was obtained from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. Dr. DiFilippo is also certified as a Workability Therapist for industrial injury management through the Workability Network, LLC. Dr. DiFilippo is currently on the board of directors for the Ohio Physical Therapy Association and also instructs physical therapy students from Cleveland State University. He has led seminars on back care and treatment in several states. Most recently Dr. DiFilippo has given seminars to other healthcare providers on foot and ankle treatment.

Ms. Davis graduated from Royal Liverpool Hospital College School for Physiotherapy in England in 1976. For the past 20 years she has provided physical therapy in a variety of settings. Ann applies an eclectic approach to treat musculoskeletal disorders and focuses particularly on education to maximize the patient’s self-care and home exercise.		Ann Davis PT

Reina Smith PT	Ms. Smith is a 1996 Graduate of the Physical Therapy Program at Ohio State University. She has worked in a variety of settings throughout northeast Ohio, with an emphasis on care for orthopedic conditions. Reina employs an active educational approach to her treatments which assist clients in better understanding and self-managing their injuries.

Patrice brings specialization in caring for hand injuries and arthritis to Rehab Professionals of Cleveland. After graduating from The Medical College of Ohio at Toledo, Ms. Volkens has become well respected throughout the medical community in Northeast Ohio. She has worked with the area's best hand surgeons to develop effective treatment and splinting techniques for persons recovering from upper extremity surgery.		Patrice Volkens OT

Lynne Scherr PT	Lynne's experience as a former fire fighter and a personal trainer give her unique resources to assist clients in regaining high levels of physical performance. Since earning her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy, she has assisted countless clients using anywhere from gentle to aggressive rehabilitation techniques.
Sanaz Holcomb PTA	Sanaz is a graduate of Cleveland State University with a bachelor of arts in science with an emphasis on exercise physiology. She completed her Physical Therapy Assistant program at Cuyahoga Community College in 1999, and has been with Rehab Professionals of Cleveland for more than four years. She is experienced in in-patient, outpatient, and nursing home environments. Here areas of specialties are orthopedics, aquatic therapy, and total joint rehabilitation. Sanaz is also fluent in Farsi.

Shari joins Rehab Professionals after working in outpatient clinics in downtown Cleveland and its western suburbs. Her upbeat approach to treatment makes her clients look forward to attending therapy, and learning how to self-manage their conditions. As a graduate of the the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Cuyahoga Community College, Shari also sits on the Program's Advisory Committee.
